3 YEAR TESTING

The IEE recommend testing every 3 years in industry which allows the work costs to be spread accordingly over this period.

We suggest a programme of work to be carried out over 3 years until completion.

If you decide to proceed the programme could be described as your “legal intent” to have testing carried out as per the regulations.

SAMPLE TESTING & NOTES

Several clients have recently advised us about cheaper quotations from competition, which has prompted us to look at the matter in more detail.

It would appear that many testing companies are cutting costs by omitting some very important features such as detailed electrical drawings, a labelling system as well as conducting “sample testing”.

We will provide a periodic report as stated undertaking 100% final circuit testing wherever reasonably practicable. This is one area where we will not compromise, because sample testing should not be carried out until the ‘Duty Holder’ has in his possession fully documented test reports.

HSE / DANGEROUS ELECTRICAL CONDITION

The HSE advise that whilst carrying out electrical network drawings during the first year of a programme we should include documentary evidence of any noticeable dangerous or potentially dangerous electrical condition. This inspection will also assist us to advise on the programme of testing which, would obviously begin within the worst affected areas.
